Driving Directions from Moshi Town

Getting to Materuni is straightforward, but the rural roads require careful driving. Here’s the detailed route:

  • Start in Moshi Town Center – Begin your journey from the Moshi town center and head towards Keys Hotel along Uru Road. Keys Hotel is a well-known landmark and a reliable starting point for navigation.

  • Take the Road to Materuni Village (Approx. 14 km) – From Keys Hotel, continue towards Materuni Village. The drive is about 14 km and takes you deeper into the beautiful countryside.

  • Pass Through Rau Town Area – Along the way, you’ll pass through Rau town. Always keep to the right-hand road whenever there are forks.

  • Mamboleo Junction – At this junction, turn right again and continue straight. You’re now getting closer to the village.

  • Tarmac Turns to Rough Road – After some distance, the smooth tarmac road ends and you’ll find yourself on a rough dirt road. Don’t worry—you’re on the right path!

  • Follow Signposts to Materuni Homes – Clear signboards point the direction towards Materuni Homes and the Materuni Waterfall trailhead.

  • Final Stretch (6–7 km) – The last part of the road (about 6–7 km) is bumpy. A normal car can still make it, but be sure to drive slowly and carefully.
