Tour Highlight

Four days full of exciting game drives. First it goes to Tarangire National Park where there is a big concertation of elephants and other animals. Afterwards, you will visit two of the seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Tanzania. The probably most famous national park in Africa, the Serengeti with its endless expanses and the Ngorongoro crater with its unique animal world.

Tour Plan

After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and together with your guide you drive to Tarangire National Park. In 1970, the national park emerged from a former colonial hunting ground. He has a very diverse animal world, not least because of its size, which corresponds to approximately Luxembourg.

The park is home to one of the largest elephant populations in the north of Tanzania, but is also home to many other wild animals. With some luck you can spot lions, cheetahs or leopards. The landscape of the park is very diverse. Especially the huge baobab trees, which are located close together in the north-eastern sector of the park, are particularly impressive. After an extensive game drive, you stay overnight at Eileens Trees Inn which it is located on the main road to Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, Karatu

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, we will drive pass the small town of Karatu to the vegetation rich Ngorongoro Crater Highlands before the vast savanna of the southern Serengeti opens before you. The park was already founded in 1951 and is thus the oldest one in Tanzania. He is the heart of a vast ecosystem, whose species-rich animal world is unique in the world.

Together with the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, the Serengeti National Park is one of the largest natural migration systems for wild animals. Annually between the three mentioned conservation areas migrate over 1.4 million gnus, almost 300,000 Thomson's gazelles, about 200,000 zebras and several thousand topis with the rainy seasons to the areas with the greener and lush meadows.

With about 3 million larger mammals, the Serengeti is the national park with the richest wildlife worldwide. Around two-thirds make up the above-mentioned animal species, furthermore the park is the home to many other animal species, such as giraffe, buffalo, hyena, elephant or crocodile. Particularly large is the population of feline predators, about 3000 lions, a good 300 cheetahs and estimated 400-700 leopards has their hunting ground here. After the game drive you will stay overnight at Tukaone Tented Camp in the central Serengeti, the Seronera area.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

This morning you will continue with further game drives in the Serengeti, at noon you will leave to the Ngorongoro Crater. Both conservation areas are not separated by fences, on the way you can observe with some luck some more wildlife. You will stay overnight at Ngorongoro Wild Camp which is located on the upper crater rim with a spectacular view.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Before breakfast you can enjoy the fantastic view over the Ngorongoro crater in good weather. After breakfast it goes on partly adventurous roads about 600 meters downward into the crater. The crater has a diameter of 17-21 kilometers and is the home of a great animal world. Nearly all the biodiversity of the East African savannah has gathered here, only giraffes and a few other animal species for which the rock faces are too steep do not live in the crater.

Depending on the season, 15,000 to 25,000 animals are gathering here, thereof more than two thirds’ buffaloes, gnus, zebras and gazelles. This large number of grazers also explains why in the crater the largest density of predators in Africa can be found. Beside other predators more than 100 lions live here in several prides. The chances of watching the "Big Five" lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard within just a few hours are here particularly good. In the late afternoon it goes up again the steep crater walls and then drive back to Arusha or will drop you to the Airport with good memories of tour.

Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch.

Great excursion to the waterfall with a coffee tour Very nice hike with our guide William to the waterfall at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. He told us a lot about the plants, animals, and Materuni. Afterwards, we were allowed to learn how coffee is made from raw coffee beans. Freshly brewed, really very delicious! A warm meal rounded off the beautiful day. We can highly recommend this excursion.

Super tourist Great to do. First a nice walk around the area. And slowly you hear the waterfall and when you are there it gives you a beautiful view of the waterfall. Walking back, you come to the coffee plantation and first get a super lunch. After lunch, everything is told about the beans and what you need to make coffee. After the explanation, you will grind beans the old-fashioned way. And it was sung. After grinding, the coffee is brewed and deliciously drunk.

Amazing Materuni ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A highly recommended experience! We hiked to Materuni Waterfalls, had a big and tasty lunch at the village, and then visited the coffee plantations and enjoyed the traditional coffee ceremony, taking part in the whole process. We had such a great time! A special mention to our guide, Colman Alexander, who was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. He is also a botanist, so along the way he taught us lots of interesting things about the local plants, wildlife and culture, which made the experience even more special. We’d also like to thank our driver, who was very kind and attentive throughout the day and made all our transfers comfortable and enjoyable. We 100% recommend Colman Alexander and this whole experience. Definitely worth it if you’re visiting the Kilimanjaro area! 🌿🏔️☕️

Great waterfall hike and coffee experience with Silvester We had a wonderful day at Materuni, thanks largely to our guide Silvester. He led us to the waterfalls with great knowledge and answered all our questions, yet was never intrusive, giving us time to enjoy the scenery at our own pace. The coffee experience afterwards was a lovely highlight too. Friendly, calm and very competent, highly recommended

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An amazing experience with Robert in Materuni* We had an absolutely fantastic experience in Materuni with our local guide, Robert. From the very beginning, he was incredibly friendly, attentive and professional, and he made the whole experience truly special. We visited the Materuni Waterfalls, where Robert taught us so much about the local culture, vegetation, wildlife and the area in general. He has a huge amount of knowledge and clearly loves sharing it with visitors. We then enjoyed a delicious local meal and learned about the whole coffee-making process — from how the coffee is picked to how it is traditionally prepared. And, of course, we got to taste it at the end! It was a really authentic and fascinating experience. Robert speaks excellent English, explains everything very clearly and is always happy to answer questions. He also took amazing photos of us, capturing some really special moments that we will keep as memories of our trip. What made the experience even better was the opportunity to learn about Materuni and Tanzanian culture from someone so passionate and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this experience, and especially Robert as a guide. If you are visiting the area, don’t hesitate to book it — you won’t regret it! Thank you so much, Robert, for such an unforgettable day! 🇹🇿❤️

Amazing experience with an exceptional guide! We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Materuni Waterfall and the coffee tour, and a huge part of it was thanks to our wonderful guide, Colman. From beginning to end, Colman was attentive, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. He explained everything in great detail and made the whole experience interesting, fun and very enjoyable. He also speaks perfect Spanish, which was a huge bonus for us and allowed us to fully appreciate all his explanations. The waterfall was spectacular, the coffee experience was fascinating, and the whole day was beautifully organized. Colman’s enthusiasm and professionalism really made the difference and turned an already amazing excursion into something truly special. Thank you, Colman, for making this such a memorable experience. We couldn’t recommend him and this tour highly enough!
