Tour Plan
Your evening begins with a transfer from your hotel in Moshi to Rau Forest Reserve, where you will meet your professional guide and receive a short briefing about the night walk.
Once inside the forest, the guided night walk begins using torches or headlamps. As you move along the quiet trails, your guide will help you listen carefully to the sounds of the forest and interpret the activity around you.
During the walk, you may have the chance to spot nocturnal wildlife, including bush babies (with a bit of luck), night birds, insects, and amphibians. The experience is more about sensing and observing the forest’s nighttime life rather than rushing, making it calm and immersive.
The tour also includes a visit to the Rau River, where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, as well as exploration of the ancient Mvule trees, which hold cultural and traditional significance for the local community.
Along the way, your guide will share stories about local beliefs, traditions, and medicinal plants, giving you deeper insight into how the surrounding communities have lived in harmony with the forest for generations.
Midway or towards the end of the experience, you will enjoy a packed dinner in a safe and designated area within or near the forest.
After completing the walk, you will return to the entrance and drive back to your hotel in Moshi, arriving around 10:00 PM.
