Tour Plan
Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Moshi, followed by a short scenic drive to Materuni Village, located on the fertile slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Upon arrival, meet your local guide and begin a guided walk through lush vegetation, banana farms, and small streams toward the impressive Materuni Waterfalls. The hike takes approximately 1.5–2 hours and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. At the waterfall, take time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and swim in the refreshing natural pool if you wish.
After the visit, return to the village for a traditional hot lunch. In the afternoon, experience an authentic Chagga coffee tour, where you will learn the entire coffee-making process—from harvesting, roasting, grinding, to brewing—and enjoy a freshly prepared cup.
Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure, enjoying views of Kilimanjaro (weather permitting) and interacting with the local community. Dinner will be served at your lodge, followed by a relaxed evening. Accommodation: Materuni Homes.
After an early breakfast, depart for Marangu Gate, the starting point of your Kilimanjaro day hike within Kilimanjaro National Park.
After registration and briefing, begin your hike through the dense rainforest zone of Mount Kilimanjaro. This section of the mountain is rich in biodiversity, where you may spot colobus monkeys and a variety of bird species. The trek to Mandara Hut takes approximately 3–4 hours. Upon arrival, enjoy your packed lunch and take a short walk to the nearby Maundi Crater, where you can enjoy scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
After sufficient rest, begin your descent back to Marangu Gate (approximately 2–3 hours), where you will receive a hiking certificate. You will then be transferred back to Moshi or your hotel, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro experience.
